London Day 2

My not-so-lazy Sunday!

Things I learnt today-

Being at an underground station at 7:30 am means your main company is a drunken man pissing against a wall while yelling at people as they walk past (and asking if I’m married...eww).

The Tower bridge is more spectacular than expected, with vibrant colours, intricate details, and is a unique piece of antique architecture in the midst of the everyday modern mundane.

You are never far from the classic, colourful, flowerpot-decorated pub that shouts personality into the streets! I loved them.

Hyde park is one VERY big park. I fell in love with the weeping willow as it’s leaves swept the ground, the baby ducks (with mumma duck) waddling around the ponds, the miles of open fields, and the cottage style gardens that surround it.

If you go to see Buckingham palace while the guards march...expect about 8 million people (ok I may be over exaggerating, but it felt like that much), but nevertheless a really cool experience. I never knew the band played things like Abba, and not just the classical pieces! In the gardens is where I ate my prepacked ham and cheese sandwich...(yes it was in my bag the whole time, no I didn’t die)!!

The Big Ben building ensemble was extraordinarily beautiful! Once close up, you can see the details and it’s spectacular! Just a quick walk to Southbank which has something for everyone; food, entertainment, and activities galore-and of course the London eye (or as others like to call it, the London eye-sore).

The Shakespeare globe is beautiful, intimate, and not the real one lol. As much as I loved the place of the masters work, it wasn’t till I was walking home did I find the original place of his theatre (about two streets away). It is now a residential complex, but the ground still has the circular stone pattern, and there are signs outlining its placement.

And with that...

8 hours, 7 short train rides, over 25,000 steps – I’m out.

Trying not to fall over the edge!!

Feeling like a fairy princess!

Always need the red guys with the fluffy heads!!

Good Ole Buckingham Palace. Pretty sure I need a crown too! **Notice the little red guys on the edges!! Yeah...this place is BIG!!!
